with regards to the SATA interface, are you referring to the SATA controller on the HP laptop motherboard? how would I check if it supports TRIM? or are you referring to the SSD? sorry for my ignorance as I've never used an SSD before.
it is an old laptop so I doubt it would be SSD-ready if you're referring to a BIOS thing or motherboard thing.
