I still don't accept that the problem is "GFWL", so much as "Bioshock 2" considering how well GFWL performs on every other game I mentioned. Bioshock 2 is probably doing something GFWL doesn't like.

The point is that the fact that GFWL is required to play Bioshock 2 keeps me from playing Bioshock 2.

I had to Google "GFWL" to know what the hell all you guys were talking about

I guess the only game I have that's GFWL is Lost Planet. Didn't have any problems with it. That was like 3 years ago though.

No, I think shoddy programming present in Bioshock 2 keeps you from playing Bioshock 2. GFWL works fine otherwise, as far as I can tell.

You still haven't explained how the fact that GFWL paging home to log in and hanging, then crashing could be a result of Bioshock 2 and not of GFWL. I think that it's an assumption to say that it's one the Bioshock side's code, and a bad one at that.

It's the same client as with every other GFWL game, and they don't have the issue. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that Bioshock 2 is doing something that freaks out the client. Conceivably MS could probably do something about it, but more likely it's 2K's problem.

This is off-topic, though. Back to how manly Bulletstorm is. :p

Come to think of it, all GFWL games I've seen do seem to be crappy ports... Although I only saw like 3 of them.

The general you're trying to kill in this game made me laugh when he called me a 'dickless maggot'.

its a fun game if you're just after a few laughs and nothing too serious, I thought the ending was a bit weak but not the worst I've experienced.

The game has so many similarities to gears of war, aside from being first person I could easily be fooled into thinking it was another edition of gears. I know its on the same engine etc, but its like they didnt even try that hard to make it different. Kinda weird, I'm not sure if they did it deliberately to be taking the piss or something.

I don't like it when I get a skillshot, but I'm unable to understand exactly how I did it and the database says there's no description available. Um, hello? Thought the point of the game was to get you to plan skillshots?

I saw this thread and thought, "hey, that thread is getting a lot of love. Must be a good game." Then I read the thread. I think I'll save my money on this one.

Depends on your definition of a good game, I guess.

I guess I was just commenting on the fact there was a lot of GFWL debate. Sorry, not trying to throw it out of whack again. That being said, I've never had any issues with GFWL.

The game looks cool, but how is the story? That's what really gets me into games.

No, I wasn't criticizing. I fully understand that many people won't like this over-the-top game. Story? Eh. It's about as much of a story as Serious Sam, or Duke Nukem, or the original Doom. Some kind of revenge dealio-thingy, who cares? Half-Life this isn't, but that's okay, because it's good at what it is: a cartoonish, stereotypical man-romp through an alien world where you get to kill baddies in interesting ways.

I highly enjoyed it. It's definitely not a game everyone is going to like, but I think they really nailed the genre they were aiming at. A straight out, no cover humping, FPS. Humor wise it's what I'm hoping Duke will turn out to be; crass, juvenile, and sexist. I played through it on the hardest initially available difficulty level, and had enough fun that I turned around and played through it again on insane. I'd say the game felt a little easy, even on Insane, but having beaten Dead Space 2 on Hardcore, my view may be a little skewed.

I'm loving this game too. On normal difficulty, it kinda reminds me of serious sam, loads of things to shoot that die quickly and messily. Satisfying :)

One thing that I haven't liked is the facial animation during cut scenes. The voice acting is pretty good, but let down by faces that barely change, and most of the time look a bit cross-eyed. Wish they'd taken a leaf from the guys who are making L.A. Noire. Other than that though, it's epic.

So as I was picking up my copy of Dragon Age 2 yesterday, I looked over the "bargain bin" (you know that area, just to the right of the new releases but to the left from really old and crappy games)to see whats been added, and whats this I see....Bulletstorm 39.99 WTF, I then inherently asked the geeky pot-head clerk about it his reply, "Yeah man they dropped the price already."

I bought it for the PC and it's a fun game. I'm using the Xbox 360 wired controller to play it and I haven't run into any issues so far.

I beat it last week. It was fun. Performance kinda suffered on the PS3 in a few of the more busy stages toward the end of the game, though. No doubt this was not a problem on the PC version.
