The mods have been getting reports of stolen photos, and also someone made a report about a pic that was not "family friendly." I think it was the one with all the porn folder names.

I closed the reports because they didn't seem to be a big deal, but did want to bring it up in this thread so that Dissonance can address it it if he likes, and also to let the people making the reports know we are not ignoring them.

I'm a little confused by what you mean. If someone stole a photo I'd say that qualifies as a big deal, especially if they won. I mean closing the reports almost sounds exactly like ignoring it. Unless you meant you looked into it and found plagiarism to not be present.

That's exactly it. I wont be going around trying to prove or disprove whose screen shot is what, but I did want to acknowledge that we have a the report and it was being looked into, so that more reports dont have to keep being made. Also, some posters have stated "this is my friends / brothers / wife's" screen shot; should that be brought up? Maybe, but not my call; just wanted it out in the open. :)

Last contest had over 1000 entries. I'd say ~100 entries in this one gives you pretty good chances to win! Crazy that a tiny bit of effort can deter so many people from entering. You know, cause gaming and taking sweet screenshots really is a chore.

Y'know pouring over my games thinking of cool screenshots to take was a bit of a chore. Still worth it if a new card comes with the deal though!

Too bad there won't be time for some self taken Dragon Age 2 screens :(

I don't know about a minimum but I'd say it's safe to assume you aren't doing yourself any favors making a pic too small. I've been sticking to 1024x576 as that's the large size on flickr and fits nicely in a forum post.

Ok sooo I've uploaded all of my best Halo\ODST\Reach screenshots.. Here's hoping.

You can find all of mine can be found on Bungie, XBL tag "Apollyonis" (to ensure I get no accusations of cheating).

I can't run games on my system...
I attempted StarCraft II at the lowest settings and managed one of the base layers of texture after 3 or 4 minutes. C&C Renegade doesn't even run and it's 10 years old (maybe a little older). I wish I could find my old HL2: Lost Coast screen shots. Played on a different computer, but that game is beautiful. Especially with impulse 101 and a portal gun :)
I'll go for the pity vote without even attempting to upload a screenshot by saying that I'm planning on upgrading to a GeForce 7500LE if I can get it fixed. Only 4 generations behind... And because it's an LE it's equivalent to the low end of the previous generation.

Did some more shots today for the contest, would really like to win one of those cards.

My HD 4850 needs to be retired before Battlefield 3!

Good luck to everyone.

I don't think Photoshops and real life photos count as "in-game" lol.

Did a tineye search of my pictures and it only found results for my half life picture. Mine is obviously different, but it's upsetting that I'm so unoriginal that others had the idea for the same screenshot.
At least I got rid of the crosshair in mine. :)

I posted my screenshots of Just Cause 2.

I think I got it looking pretty good at a solid 30-35fps with my trusty old 9800 GTX.

But alas, no AA.

And alas, only 1680x1050. But that's really okay until I get a bigger monitor, anyway.

That Twin Frozr would be a milky prize, indeed. :D

Well a lot of people didn't follow the rules so chances are still good! The rules specifically asked for "in-game" screenshots and no larger then 1600x wide. I saw screenshots that were much wider then 1600. There was also screenshots that weren't "original work", screenshots of Windows desktops, MS paint screenshots, stuff made in photoshops, photos of real life stuff, screenshots that other people made etc. So I would assume none of those count since they did not follow the rules.

But for those screenshots that did follow the rules, there was lots of awesome ones! So good luck to everyone and thanks again for another TR contest! :D

Good Luck everyone that entered :) I hope I win. I wasnt going to enter b/c I figured I would get enough B-day money to cover most of the cost of a new MSI GTX 560-TI, but alas didnt get enough so I decided to enter last minute with a couple screen shots of War from Darksiders. I think he looks awesome while holding they Sycthe, wish he would hold the chaoseater like the sycthe after a swing, would have been nice to get a screen of him holding a maxed chaoseater in attack stance.

I just relized that tinypic cropped the photo's for the forum post :( IMO the pic still looks good just the right side seems to be cropped some.

Edit: the pic's are ok on tinypic its the forum entry that has it cropped :( OH well good luck everyone :)

As long as they're under the 1600px wide limit it doesn't matter if they're cropped by the forum. All they have to do is right click and "view image", assuming firefox.

I am hoping some editing to create my TR super mario world rom will pay off :D

The best part is the game is playable on an emulator. Maybe I will create my own Super Mario World.

You know, boys, a nuclear reactor is a lot like a woman. You just have to read the manual and press the right buttons.

Yeah, it looks a bit like this. Keep this info under your hat, though -- we might both get banned if they ever find out! :P
