Fan controller

Postposted on Mon Mar 28, 2011 12:46 pm

Hi guys :)

I'm thinking on adding a fan controller to my setup. My question, is this fan controller:

http://www.scythe-usa.com/product/acc/060/sfg120_detail.html

work with this type of fans:

http://www.noiseblocker.de/en/BlackSilent120.php

as i'm not aware if fan controllers need PWM fans to work with :-?

Can somebody explain this to me?

Thank you

I do not see why not, the Scythe controller just resists power to the fans. The noiseblockers has a 4pin molex version so you can install the fans on the motherboard headers and use the bios fan controller.

So your saying that these fan controllers work with pretty normal fans correct?

No, fan controllers generally are set up to take 3-pin fans. PWM fans have 4 pins.

(You could plug a PWM fan into a fan controller, but it'll work as a regular non-PWM fan if you do)
