Wow. Thanks for this. I'm gonna give it a go for a few days.

Holy Crap. This should make folding MUCH easier for people that find it daunting.

Just a sneak peak..

Asks you for Donor name, team, passkey, and whether you want to initially set up a single client, smp, or gpu. Set smp -8 for me and just took off. [u]Really [/u ]simple.

I loaded the Win version on a spare desktop. Will send one or two uniprocessor then switch to SMP.

Eh, got me folding again.

Just 2.5k from an HD 4870 for now. New build in August will be a nice i7 2500k and probably an HD 6950 (depending on how the ATI core matures) so I should be able to help more then.

I'm throwing a 2500K at you, at least for system stability testing.

Asus's utility says I'm turbo'd up to 4.327 GHz. :D

For some reason the UI just does not seem to work for me. Probably because of those cross platform toolkit crap where it works but looks bad on all OSes. :-?
The Model M is not for the faint of heart. You either like them or hate them.

I thought this new one was supposed to make it easier to fold? So far all I've had is fails on the GPU side, seems like I spend more time getting these clients set up right than anything else.

That's too bad. I haven't set up a GPU on the new client yet, but setting up my i7 860 was easy as pie.

If you're overclocking, that's probably the problem. Folding makes GPU's run hot, constantly, and you have to be careful about the clock speed. I have 3 GPU's I'm using, 2 of which are overclocked. One of them, an old 8800 GT, requires me to restart the machine every once in a while because it crashes and begins running much more slowly.

I've had much the same experience. I've got a GTS 250 and a GTX 460 in the same system but for some reason the v7 client won't detect the GTX 460. I've tried manually configuring using -gpuindex option as well but that didn't work either. Consequently I've decided to wait for a newer version of the beta client to be released before I try it again. SMP works just fine though.

After some research it seems Nvidia drivers 270.61 are causing all sorts of failures with GPU clients whether the new v7 or v6, I rolled my drivers back to 266.xx and the the v7 client is working just as advertised with GPU and SMP slots. However, I still have a failed message on another system with an AMD 5770 on the new v7 client. Updates as I go

The new console is running just fine and took very little work to get both the smp and gpu Barts PRO up. The one thing I have noticed is the new FF 4.0 is so incredibly sluggish if I have a GPU folding in progress or paused. If there is no gpu work unit loaded FF runs great. Anyone know a solution....I have switched to using ie9 which has no troubles at all when Im folding a GPU work unit.
