My sound-card should be arriving soon, maybe tomorrow. So the next upgrade will be from 2GB of RAM to 4GB.

Is this the best kind of RAM that I should get? If not, what would you suggest?

2x2 GiB PC2-6400 (DDR2-800), CAS 5, 1.8 V

You might also see if someone who has recently upgraded to Sandy Bridge might sell or give you an old LGA 775 motherboard that has 4 DIMM slots instead of two.

The list you created contains the three I mentioned in the post above, which the OP readily found.

1.8 V DIMMs are a better choice than ones that require extra voltage to run reliably at their claimed speed rating.

Lower latency modules are better than higher latency modules, all other factors being equal.

The OP's selection included six kits from Kingston and four kits from G.Skill.

Yeah? Well how much do you think such a motherboard might cost? Do you think it's a good idea to buy a used motherboard? Do you know from where I could get one? Maybe I will, if the price is right, BEFORE buying RAM. But you know what I should buy and about how much it should cost hehehe

At this point, you're better off saving for a new motherboard, CPU and RAM- but I can tell you that even with a dual-core, I saw a huge performance jump in anything gaming related when going from 2GB to 4GB.
