Hi there.

I am considering building a 3D gaming box. How would you change/upgrade the Sweeter Spot for playing games on a 55" 3DTV? I already have an MSI GeForce 560ti OC, so I'll buy another one of those to SLI in the new system. Anything else I need to do?

My understanding was that if enabling 3D halves framerates, then adding a second card should get things back to normal... guess that's a bit optimistic.

I really wish people were a bit more excited about 3D technology. Today's poll really shows how little interest there is.

I'd still love to hear opinions about a 3D version of The Sweeter Spot.

3D just isn't the big deal studios and TV makers were hoping it would be.

3D does indeed halve the frame rates, but not in the way that you are thinking. It really just halves the refresh rate, not the amount of frames that your video card is capable of drawing. For a non-3D TV, the refresh rate is 60hz. For a 3D TV, the refresh rate is 30hz for the left eye channel and 30hz for the right eye channel. As long as your video card is capable of drawing 60fps total, you don't really need a faster card, nor is a faster card going to do you any good, because you are limited by the 30hz refresh rate anyway.

Sorry but your totally wrong 3d displays are 120hrtz 60 for each eye,60 would be way too low ,i get a headache just thinking about looking at 30hrtz

If you plan on using a 3DTV you probably want to do some research on if the TV will be up to it. My understanding is a lot of tv's are built to a hdmi 1.4 spec which limits you to 1080p@24Hz or 720p@60Hz.

I thought they were 240hrtz, 120 for each eye. :/
