Sreen flickers on boot up

As soon as the splash screen appears it will flicker then sometimes go black until its time to log on to windows then everything is fine.

Never saw this before.

Has anything changed recently? Different monitor? New video drivers?

The only thing I can think of is a new driver , but why would it do it just on boot up and fine in windows , weird.

The new driver may be behaving differently during initialization. Like say, cutting off (or glitching) the video output, causing the monitor to go to sleep.

What if you disable the splash screen?

Maybe that's like having a noise in your car and the mechanic tells you to turn the radio up. :D

Both of my computers do this, too (homebuilt desktop and HP laptop). Both have Radeon graphics, but the desktop did it back when it had an Nvidia card, too. I always figured it was a Windows 7 thing. Doesn't seem to indicate any actual problem.

Seems to happen most often when the machines reboot after installing updates.

If you really miss seeing the splash screen, you could set it as your desktop wallpaper?

I really don't care about seeing the splash screen . it did not do it before and now it started concerning me , you don't even see windows little ballon things.

It black until desk top then after that good to go.

I rolled back the video driver still same problem . sometimes if I reboot for what ever reason won't do it at all.
