Gerbils assemble!
So its time to upgrade/build a new system.
My current system is: AMD Phenom II x3 720BE, 4gb ddr3 1600mhz cas 7 1.9v, radeon 4870, dual 750gb WD Greens in raid, antec 750w psu, lian-li chassis, X-Fi titanium, asus M4A78T-E. custom koolance liquid loop (cpu only)
The system need to pull double duty as a game station and a workstation. I am a CAD/CAM engineering major, primarily using Catia v5r20. I am a college student so I need something reliable that will last hopefully another 3 years, with minor upgrades.
There are several components from my current system so I'm not building a system completely from scratch. I will carry over the chassis, HDD, PSU, DVD, and Sound Card to the new build.
My upgrade budget is $700, so now I'm looking for the best bang for the buck, on a mobo, cpu, gpu, and ram. I am still debating if an small ssd for use as a boot drive and for running cad software from would be a worth while upgrade.
Thanks for the recommendations.
