TR Fantasy Hockey 2011

Fri Aug 26, 2011 12:13 pm

Leagues are back up in Yahoo, who normally runs this again? I had to take a miss last year and want to come back now that I actually am good at this
Hey girl you want a bad boy? I overclock my backup servers.

I think this is Fro_Bozz's deal.
What we have today is way too much pluribus and not enough unum.

Does it have to be forum members? Me and a friend of mine are looking for a more interesting league this year.

If you'll both PROMISE to be active players for the whole year (dead teams are even worse in fantasy hockey IMO) then I will be glad to include you both. :D

And you are Canadian! (thinks this is a good sign that you'll actually play all year and not give up.)

I usually create head to head and rotisserie leagues both. Head to head is more popular obviously.

That was the problem with the league I was in last year. Half the teams disappeared off the map quickly. Many of my trade offers went unanswered.
Also the league had a one move per week rule. I like a daily change, so I re-configure my lineups for each days games!

I guess another problem was that I had Malkin and Crosby on my team and I couldn't unload them after they were injured....BUT that's in the past.

Sorry fellows. I didn't hear anything back about this, and got a little anxious that it wouldn't be going on. I've joined another league. Is this one even going on again this year?
Sorry if I jumped the gun, but I didn't want to end up without a team this year. Less than a week before the opening game, hope everyone gets into a good league...

can we kick the draft back like an hour? 9:15 is much more managable to me

Sorry-
Next year guys I will create the league earlier - it kinda snuck up on me this time - and I had an unexpected buisness trip where I worked all day and night for five days - it kinda messed me up.
Those are my excuses and I'm sticking to them. :D FWIW, I filled up my family hockey league within 10mins of the draft Tuesday night - after some major scrambling, all cuz I waited too long.
My roto league also was messed up because I didn't have enough teams in time and it locked out more ppl from joining and forced an autodraft.
I'm just glad there appears to be a few people that are actually interested around here this time around. Dead teams are even worse in hockey IMHO.

GO RED WINGS! 8)

Man, there has been some real PLAYOFF HOCKEY in this first round. Flyers/Pens and Rangers/Sens aren't hockey, they're MMA on ice. Exactly as it should be. I'd hate to be Brendan Shanahan right about now.

I think Shanny should have given Weber more then a $2,500 to Weber for slamming Z's head into the boards in game 1.
Maybe if he'd done that the rest of the playoffs this year would be less MMA-like and give the NHL a little bit more of an appearance of **** about protecting players, under fear of reprecussions, etc. It's like a free-for-all now, fun to watch - but not good overall IMHO.

I'm also upset my beloved Wings are down 3-1 too, yes - but I really thought Weber deserved more for that hit.

And the media says 'this isn't what the game should be', and 'people don't want to see that'
Has anyone taken note of the high ratings? Has anyone watched the crowd reactions at those games? People are totally invested into every moment of the game. It's an emotional roller coaster separates into 3 ( ore more ) 20 minute stop time marathons!

And the Devils lose. Once the Flyers were out I had no true dog in the hunt, but any team that beats the Devils is just fine in my book. Congrats to the Kings and a worthy Conn Smythe winner in Jonathan Quick.

Agree 100%
Quick really is pretty great. Cool to see an eighth seed win the cup for the first time ever, too.
Speaks to the parity of the league now. Zach Parise can come and play on the Wings now if he wants 8)
