Hi everyone!
I put together a kind of mutant monster sweeter spot using some parts from 2008 summer (case, power supply, hard drives) and some parts from 2011 back to school (cpu, mobo, ram, ssd).
What I ended up with was the first system that ever gave me the urge to overclock! >:P
So I've done a few things by following this guide:
http://www.clunk.org.uk/forums/overcloc ... nners.html
Since I trust this community so much, I figured I'd check in here and see what you all think of my current progress.
I've got the RAM running at 1600 (9-9-9-24-2N-1.50v) which was what it defaulted to when I set the AI Overclock Tuner to X.M.P.
The CPU is running at 100 x 40 per the first set up instructions in the above mentioned link.
Load-line calibration is AUTO.
CPU manual voltage is set to 1.12v. Again, I'm just blindly trusting the guide.
I'm running a stress test now, and after 45 minutes, the CPU according to the ASUS Monitor is around 70C. The RealTemp program shows some higher numbers... Minimums from 73-77 and maximums from 79-83. Prime95 Self-Test shows all tests passed.
So I guess my big question is... am I doing it right? ^_^;
Are the temps about normal for a stock cooler and factory thermal paste?
What's a comfortable goal to shoot for with this set up?
Any other tips?
