OCZ 4-4-4-8 RAM will not post on P5K-VM Mobo

Sun Sep 25, 2011 12:42 am

Hey,

I bought a used computer recently and the person who sold it to me threw in a pair of 512mb gold edition 4-4-4-8 RAM for me, because he said he couldn't get it to POST in the computer. I can't either, and I'm just wondering if the RAM is likely no good, or if it's because the timing is somehow too low, because I seem to think I might just need to adjust a BIOS setting and I'll be able to get it to work?

thoughts?

Thank you.

You own sig shows that you use 4-4-4-12 timings on your machine, why not try those first?

Besides, that last "8" is not gonna boost your performance considerably, nor win you an overclocker award.

Oh, wait.. :P
