Damn. What a horrible game. If there ever was a need for a Mercy Rule, in college football, UF would have done what they could have to avoid the last third of the game. We really didn't pick ourselves up well at all and adjust. Very disappointing. I'm guessing a drop from 12 to about 20, or worse.

Yeah, basically.
Nebraska played ok the first half but turned it over right at the end of the 1rst half which led to a wisconsin td.
Three turnovers all led to Wisc tds. Nebraska defense couldn't stop them. However, we haven't stopped really anyone all year.

I don't think Wisconsin could stand up to OK, LSU or Alabama. They just haven't faced a good defense yet.
Not that they aren't good.. they are but it's still hard to judge how good they are based on the Nebraska game.
Ohio St was beating Nebraska worse than Wisconsin did until the 2nd half.

Go Hoos! That was a fantastic game (speaking as a UVa student). I rushed the field with half the student body after the last play. So much fun.

I think Michigan St proved my point. Wisconsin hadn't met a good defense yet.
Will be interesting if Nebraska will show up next week.

Wisconsin still should have won this game.. they simply shot themselves in the foot with penaties & turnovers. Much like Nebraska did vs Wisc

They lost by a field goal. They would have tied if they didn't miss that field goal in the 4th quarter. In anycase oklahoma is going to lose a lot in the rankings since they lost to an unranked team. Even if they had tied and won the game in overtime, they still would have lost a lot in rankings for allowing over 550 yards by unranked Texas tech.

MSU's final winning point was insane... MSU's offense really showed that Wisconsin's defense still needs a lot of work.

Boise state defense had a lot of issues today vs Air force's running attack.... which was not a surprise. Boise state's defense has always been weak against multi-option offenses, and especially against the run. This game reminded me of last year's boise state loss to nevada. Except this time, boise state's offense didn't really miss any steps and was quite efficient despite having more than 10 min less possession time than airforce. Now kellen moore is tied for 1st place in total number of wins by a starting quarterback, and is expected to add 5 more wins this season.

Just taking down 2 of the unbeatens helps the end process immeasurably.
What we have today is way too much pluribus and not enough unum.

it does at least make people feel better about the current system.
However, Wisconsin would beat Michigan St 7 or 8 times out of 10. Oklahoma would beat Texas Tech 8 or 9 times out of 10.

Playoff of the top 8 teams is what is needed.

Oh yeah, I totally agree. OK choked their BCS championship dream to death. A playoff system would be great, and more exciting than just watching one bowl game per team at the end of the season. As a BSU fan the rest of BSU's schedule isn't interesting. The only team that should be interesting was TCU, and they are not the team they used to be. I'm hoping that they get into at least a decent BCS bowl game against a decent opponent. next game is vs UNLV which is a very low teir team at best... and the last game before the bowl games is vs NM lobos... probably the worst team right now.

Fully agree. Just dealing with the system we're stuck with for now, one that seems to love 'Bama/LSU national championship games.

Good grief, is this really setting up the possibility of Clemson playing in the championship game? I'm not a Clemson fan by any stretch, but I really like Dabo Swinney and would like to see him get a shot at the title.

Clemson is just on a roll this year. It's been a long time since we've had a showing this strong without choking horribly.

I've been here since 2004 (woo grad school!) and I can't remember a single season where we had chances this good for a title game...

Way to go Nebraska! Completely shut them down in the 2nd half.
24-3. Good win. Nebraska defense is actually starting to play decent. Still lots of mistakes that need cleaned up, though.

Everyone in the Big 10 is about at the same level of mediocrity. I'm thankful that Nebraska is improving but they're not a great team.. just decent.
Michigan St, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio St. All decent. Any team could beat any other depending on the particular day / turnovers / penalties. Michigan St played a very clean game against Wisconsin and a fairly sloppy game vs Nebraska. Our defense continues to improve.

I thought Wisconsin was a bit overrated because I wasn't impressed with their pounding of Nebraska as much as others. We played bad all year and that was our worst game with turnovers / sloppy play. Take away the 3 turnovers and it would have been much closer. At that point, I think they still would have won by 10 to 14 because our defense was still playing horrendous. Still think Wisconsin is a good team though.

It is odd that neither divsion has any real leader now. Penn St is at the top of their division but they haven't played anyone. They will likely lose their last three games.
It will probably be (Wisconsin or Ohio St) vs (Nebraska or Michigan St.) I'd much rather play Wisconsin again than Ohio St.

I'm interested in whether or not we'll (Ohio State) be ranked if we win the next two weeks against Indiana and Purdue. Will we have to wait until after beating Penn State to become ranked? Or is it something where we just won't be ranked even if we win out?

Yeah. I expected our defense to give up about 20 points though. Our defense has been inconsistent all year .. the Michigan St game was more of the fluke.
However, we still should have beat Northwestern. Our offensive side is the side that choked.. in that first half.

The Big 10 is very mediocre this year. If everyone was playing well and we still were in the same boat, it'd be good. But turnovers, penalties and sloppy play have defined the games.

---------

In a side note, after "watching" some of the LSU - Alabama game and then flipping to the K State - OK STate game, I'm more convinced then ever that we need a playoff.
