The end of mobile Flash - desktop soon to follow?

As Engadget opines at the end of the blurb, it does seem that Flash as a whole is on shaky ground. I'm cool with that, and I'd like to see it go away. I'm not alone, am I?
I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.

If Flash was coded tightly and NOT a total CPU hog, it might have a future. Now it looks more like a fossil every day. Looks like Steve Jobs was RIGHT about denying Flash in iOS. GO HTML5!

To be fair, not all of Flash's CPU-pig behavior is entirely Flash's fault. Like any programming language, it is possible to write poorly coded apps that behave badly in it.

That said, yeah a Flash-free world would be a good thing.
Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.
