Alan Wake (PC) - CONFIRMED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tue Dec 13, 2011 9:09 am

Forum user kikixmen over at the RMD Alan Wake community forums has posted up the pics of steams registry which includes registry tags for all games available in the entire steam catalogue and was how the release of sonic generations was leaked previously now includes references to ALAN WAKE.

Yes. That is right. Meadows and me shall rejoice in our PC version of awesomeness! (Sorry Meadows if my presumption about you being as interested in this as me is wrong as I might be remembering a previous forum conversation we had some 2.5 yrs ago or whenever the original canning of the PC version happened).

The game is a seriously good time, though a bit on the short side. Comparable to the length of the first Max Payne. Lots to see and do, though it's pretty linear. I really hope this happens - everyone should get to experience it. I got it pre-ordered for 360 back when I had a 360, so I got the main game and The Signal. Never did get to play The Writer, and there's apparently a side-story Alan Wake game coming to XBLA. Here's hoping it all winds up on PC too.
I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.

Yeah I actually caved and purchased the 360 collector's edition and borrowed a mate's 360 to play through it all when it came out... was my 2nd favourite game for that year. (love RMD too much not to just because MS waved the big stick).

2.5 years ago? A gross overestimation. It wasn't nearly that long ago.

However, yes, I shall rejoice. Maybe Remedy will get my money soon after all. So far I haven't bought anything Alan Wake related, haven't read any articles about it, and haven't watched any videos. It's been such a disappointment (the lack of a PC version, that is), that I've pretended it doesn't exist anymore.

How is that short? I've finished that game more times than I can reasonably count, but through the first one or two playthroughs - and if you can get yourself immersed -, the game will feel just right and it will feel "long enough".

It took me ~10 hrs on my first playthrough of Alan Wake.

Simple - I didn't want it to end. The second one was a bit longer and felt more "right" to me.

edit: there IS something I wanted to end and that's the ****ing crying baby/drug-induced nightmares where you have to jump around on the trails of blood and not die.

Yeah I purchased it the second it was available and started playing. It is REALLY good. Loving it. (Have played it on 360 though so just played through the first two episodes before I had to start my 15 hr a day week at work).

So how are the controls. I am guessing it is easier to dodge and such with a KB and mouse? (something I had difficulty with on a controller)

It's clearly just a crappy console game suffering from consolitis which is killing the PC gaming industry, why would PC gamers care about it?
