LG Blueray LAN streaming?

Tue Dec 27, 2011 1:56 pm

My in-laws just got an LG BD630C player that will play from Netflix, YouTube or USB. Given that it is on the net and plays files from USB, is there any way to make it play from a network drive on a PC and skip copying on to a USB?

No, I'm pretty sure that's reserved for their higher-end players. The BD650 and above claim DLNA Certification, which should enable that.
(I just downloaded the manual for the 630 -- the "C" is just the Canadian SKU -- and I see no sign of DLNA or anything that would enable you to browse/discover network media servers. Though, weirdly, the player allows you to rip audio tracks from CDs to whatever storage is plugged into the USB port.)
