Macbook Pro - Summer 2012 High-Res screens

Sat Dec 17, 2011 10:14 pm

Anyone else out there think this is an awesome idea? I wish I had the cash to get one, though the very first thing I'd do is probably format it and install Linux on it, but it'd be neat. I like my 1080p screen on my W520, but I do feel a bit cramped when working in Eclipse. Of course, knowing Apple, this won't be available on the entry-level and will instead require all the upgrades. That's the thing that bums me out the most. That and because it's a Mac. I might be a little biased no matter how pretty they are.

Sorry, I forgot to include what some rumors listed the summer 2012 resolutions at. A quick look-up of it found rumors stating that the next Macbook Pro's would have 2800x1800 screens.

These are Retina displays for MacBook Pros. In other words, four times the resolution of current screen (2x in each direction).

I might get a 13" if they can fit in discreet graphics this time after the die shrinks.

I don't belive more in the "pro"

The antique MacBook Pro was cool, with all the inputs that we need. But now, this machines I feel have minus choices. :x I have a Mac Pro too, but Apple donpt update this machine. I belive this will disapear, so the Apple machines will be only for casuals. :o

Mac rumors seem to come and go like the wind. Even more so than PC-related rumors.

When the 8th-generation MBP (Feb 2011) came out, there were a whole host of rumors that didn't come true:
1. The "liquid metal" design aesthetic
2. reduced weight
3. 8 gb ram standard on 17"
4. hybrid SSD standard
5. option to replace dvd drive with SSD
6. larger trackpads

A high-resolution screen on the upcoming MBP would be nice, but until it's actually confirmed by a reliable source, or officially acknowledged by Cupertino, I wouldn't hold my breath.

Seems like a lot of MacBook Pro updates are generally just bigger better faster but not always more ever since they went MacIntel.
