video editing

Wed Jan 11, 2012 10:36 am

I've set up my PC to capture a lot of gameplay video using Fraps but now I have a bunch of raw uncompressed video files ranging in lengths from 5s, 30s, to several minutes. About 20-30minutes of gameplay is about 17GB.

video editing is entirely foreign to me so I'm looking for some tips on what software can help me attach these clips together easily (appending each video file separately is where I am at now) and compress them so it won't take years to upload them to youtube.

Upper-left, the How To articles. Edit has a section on joining. The wife does this, FRAPS and something to join and compress then upload to Youtube. I forget offhand. Avisynth probably or whatever the back-end to that is (or one of the front-ends, if that's the back-end).

Ah. I think it's virtualdub she uses.
