Geforce GT 635M vs. 555M

Thu Feb 16, 2012 5:51 pm

So, I see Nvidia has released some of the new 6xxm series gpu's into the market but after doing research they are supposedly just rebranded 555m's. Do rebranded chips actually have any changes to them or are they literally just the same chip with a different number?

They look damn near identical. Looks like the 635M starts at faster clocks speeds, but still tops out at the same frequencies. Both are based on GF108 or GF116 GPUs, so the 555m has essentially been given a new name.

Well, technically speaking (based on Anandtech's info), the 635M has a little bit more memory bandwidth. Hardly noticeable, if at all, in any game or benchmark...
