would you pay this much for this card? does it make any sense, or would you go for a 6870 or wait for the new stuff? what you guys figure? local guy is selling one, and that's what he wants for it.

edit: it's a used card. I wouldn't pay more than $100-120. He's asking more than a new 6850, which is slower but would have a full warranty, and almost as much as a new 6870 which is roughly as fast.
I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do, I do not do. But what I hate, I do.

6870's go on sale nowadays for that much with a MIR. I wouldn't do it.

it's an xfx so, the warranty isn't an issue. But you're right, a 6870 would be faster in some games, and be roughly the same. I'll let him know not at that price.

5870 is generally as fast as the $250 7850 - check it out over at Anand. Make you decision.

It is only almost as fast as 7850 if tessellation isn't a factor. ;)

OK, almost as fast. Tesselation is more pathetic than PhysX. Turn it off. It slows performance without making anything look any better.

I sold both of mine off for $140, but they were also XFX and had transferable lifetime warranties so they fetched a bit higher of a price.
