My suggestion? Download the whole latest catalyst control center suite.
Uninstall everything driver related for the old radeon (go through device manager if you're really want to clear stuff off).
Reboot and let the generic windows drivers take over.
Then run that catalyst control center installer. You'll still get the option to check or uncheck different components (so no game trials or whatever other crap is bundled in ). Make sure you have the display drivers and the audio drivers checked.
