The Adventures of Robin Hood. There's only one such film by that name.

I may have been confusing the old TV series with the 1938 one then.

I would say the most amazing movie scene I've seen was Spencer Tracy's final speech in Guess Who's Coming to Dinner. I would say it ties with the final dance scene in the Bollywood movie Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi... both are truly epic moments that bring together the entire movie into a single moment of greatness (much like Sean Connery explained as Ramirez in Highlander 2 "Most people have a full measure of life... and most people just watch it slowly drip away. But if you can summon it all up... at one time... in one place... you can accomplish something... glorious.")

I don't think it's been mentioned yet, the car chase scene in Bullitt. Turn it up!

These previous entries are awesome, and kudos for starting this thread. These are ones that come to mind for me.

Lady Vengeance when she gets her little white cake and it starts snowing, I'm tearing up just thinking about it.

And the scenes including the lines:

"You want the truth, you can't handle the truth!"
"NO PRISONERS!"

and

"There can be only one" (at the very end of the movie)

Final battle scene of matrix 3 or Star Wars 1

any and all scenes from Salò

Those are good ones. I saw The Matrix three times in the theater while on Spring Break in college. I thought the standing up and saying "no" and watching him pluck bullets out of the air trumped those, but they certainly built that scene up.

Yea I remember thinking that as well. At the end Judah did explicitly reform on the example of the consumnate Christ. The final scenes with the rescue and redemption of his mother and sister should have been the highlight but was mildly disappointing.

A better example of allegorical Romano-Babylon would be the made-for-TV Masada (1981). The entrenchments and tower warfare contests and the actual 2-millenia- old siege ramp built by the X Legion Fretensis gave rise to amazing scenery and a very intelligent script.

Cary Grant in the chase atop Mt. Rushmore, in Alfred Hitchcock's "North by Northwest".

Easy. I don't speak Hindi.. And Shiri could easily be a Hindi word or any other 1,000 different languages of India. That's why.

And the fact they release over 100 films every year, if not more, it's difficult to keep track of filmi in different languages. got it?

I dunno. I just got done watching 3 hours of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. It was moving along just fine right up to that final dance!

Yes, it was cool that Raj finally presented himself as Suri. But she wasn't mad for all the lies? gimme a break? most women if put through that would have gone ballistic on him. And why did Suri remain Suri if he was so good as his Raj role-playing? Finally, and gimme a break that the wife, tanni, couldn't recognize her own husband after removal of mustache, glasses, a change of cloths and hair-do. Gimme a break! So Fake!

Dead Alive. Our hero takes a rotary lawn mower to a room full of Zombies. I believe it's somewhere in the neighborhood of 75 - 80 and the room is about 3' deep in mush and parts afterwards.

By far the most violent scenes ever filmed.

Sodom is just gross. I've read the source material and seen part o the movie. There's not talent, just gross out ability. It's sad how many people think it's deep or avante garde. It requires as much artistic ability as shoving my junk downa garbage disposal. It's awful.

Oh you have some nice ones there for sure. It's just the sheer number of victims, the fact it's a full room and the amount of carnage byproducts that set it apart. Some of those are much nastier. My son had one from the 30s that was just about unwatchable, can't remember the name.

Two spring to mind:

1) The opening sequence in Raiders of the Lost Ark; and
2) The car chase in Bullit.

Yes, it's gross. Not everything has to be Disney.

The new Battleship has an amazing climax where the USS Missouri closely maneuvers and fights like a man 'o war from the age of fighting sail. After running flank to cross the enem y's T at the tip of the peninsula, the battlewagon drops anchor and spins her hull around to quickly slave the fixed guns broadside to the enemy for a crushing salvo. Really cool skillfest and even slightly believable tactics.
