Not interested in Asmedias products, the NEC chip is still vastly faster than USB2 and well compatible AND cheap.
Sold as far as I'm concerned. Ordered one for 13$ delivered.
I have ASMedia on my Asus P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 motherboard, with whatever drivers for it that are available directly on Asus USA website (Asmedia USB3.0 Controller Driver V1.14.1.0). Everything works perfectly, with great performance. Maybe you did something wrong?
I installed drivers, how wrong can I get it? I've been doing it for 20 years :/
I dunno, YOU did it, you should know better... Maybe old age finally caught up with you and you rebooted at wrong time (and perhaps forgot about it) or installed drivers for wrong motherboard model with wrong ASMedia chipset model
Or maybe someone at Asus temporarily uploaded wrong drivers for wrong model for your local Asus site. All I know is everything works perfectly for me, and I use USB 3.0 ports very often because I have external flash drive which supports such speeds...
