You're asking the question again? It's already been answered. It's clear it's not important to you individually, but are you really so self-engrossed that you cannot appreciate that there are people to whom it is important?

I use my PC for everything. Movies, Music, Internet, Gaming.

I don't have a TV or a Stereo, because I don't have the room for them. (Small student apartment)

Can you see why a person like me is intrigued by lower idle power consumption?

As we wait for Midnight (or tomorrow morning since I have to "work" and stuff) here's a quick article about Ivy Bridge and Windows 8: http://news.cnet.com/8301-13924_3-57418 ... windows-8/

Nothing too exciting. It basically says that the GPU in Ivy Bridge should work OK with Metro... w00t. We'll see the real reviews soon enough.

There are already reviews up on a retail chip from Hong Kong.

http://www.overclock.net/t/1242313/more ... res-are-up

It runs hot, doesn't overlock as easily as we had hoped and gives marginal performance gains (~5% or less). Frankly, short of them lowering the price, what we are seeing is underwhelming. I skipped Sandy Bridge and Bulldozer for this, so it's a huge disappointment. What I was looking for was a chip that ran less hot, had a 5% to 10% performance gain and had as good or better overclocking potential relative to Sandy Bridge. I'm not sure what kind of yields they are getting, but we NEED AMD to come up with something decent to force prices lower. Holding the same price until Haswell would just rub salt into the wound.

Ivy scales with cold. Extreme OCers already have new records.

Ivy just doesn't like the average Joe Air/water OC that much.

Looks like the Ivy Bridge embargo lifts at 9:00 AM PST (noon for those of us on Eastern time). See: http://techland.time.com/2012/04/23/int ... y-perform/

Refresh ... refresh ... refresh...

..."what?" :D

P.S. How sad am I. I just put together a new build (which needs fixing) and I'm still interested in Ivy Bridge news. I suppose a good deal of that is due to the fact that I'm interested in TR's coverage. :D
