Steam UI responsiveness

Hi!
I find Steam UI not very responsive. I compared to Origin, and I wonder if there are anyone else with the same issue?

Here is a video of this issue:

It's not a webkit problem, it's a Steam problem. Otherwise Chrome, etc would perform poorly versus Internet Explorer. It's not that long ago that Steam used IE to render the pages. I'm assuming they switched to webkit to make the client easier to port to Mac, and supposedly now Linux. IIRC it was not really any better previously. Steam is a great service, but the client... meh...

So, er, does the scroll-lag in the Steam client induce seizures in you, or is this just an aesthetic quibble?

You could alternatively use http://store.steampowered.com/ — seems quicker on my end, that.

/edit: I linked your vid over at the Steam forums where there is an ongoing thread about the issue (a dev posted in the thread, so he might see the updates). I, too, am seeing pretty high CPU utilization in the client on several different computers, and while I'm not too bothered, having a more efficient client would be nice.

If you're talking about the web browser lag, that's normal and I've noticed it as well. I'm sure it'll improve with future versions.
