GPU too big for mobo ?

Fri May 18, 2012 6:40 pm

I just bought a Saffire 9750 OC card and wanted to be sure about the mobo I buy. I'm thinking about a Asrock Z77 Pro4-M 1155 mATX board and wanted to be sure the card will fit in it. I'm going to buy the 3570k proc with the mobo.

I've read that some cards have problems fitting on a mobo in the past because of their size and I'm not sure how to check if this card will fit without any problems on a mATX mobo.

Does anyone know what I should be looking for ?

As long as your motherboard has a PCIe x16 slot, then the graphics card will be compatible with the motherboard. The more likely issue is whether or not your case can accept the length and height of the graphics card.

The large Antec P280 case that you selected for your build (in this thread) can accommodate huge cards up to 13" long.
