EVGA 560ti 2560 x 1440 screen flickering

Sat Jun 02, 2012 1:46 am

I just got my new [QH270-Lite] Achieva ShiMian 27" Quad HD 16:9 DVI-D Wide 2560x1440 in today and hooked it to my pc and it looks great except for a constant flickering ( screen jumping, bottom half, or whole screen) it only happens ever so often.
I'm running it on my EVGA 1gb 560ti at 2560 x 1440 (card specs says 2560 x 1600 max).. I updated drivers on video card and still flickering.. I tried recording it on fraps but the video doesnt show the flickering?
Manufacture listed my 560ti as a compatible video card..

Have you tried a different output port on your graphics card?

yes, I tried both DVI ports and it still flickers.. could the korean power converter be causing this? or bad DVI cable?

I read in either the HardOCP or Overclock.net thread about a guy with a similar problem. He had to open the case and re-solder a wire or two onto the DVI connector.

Easiest thing to do is try another cable. I'm betting its a subpar DVI cable at play.
AMD Ryzen R5 2600x, Asus Prime x470 Pro, Sapphire Nitro Fury 4GB, HP EX920 512GB NVMe SSD, 16GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro, 4TB WD Red HDD, Thermaltake Level 10 GT Snow Ed, Win 10 Pro

ok I changed out the cable and its still doing the screen jumping.. could a bad power adapter be causing these issues?

ok a friend told me it was a power problem.. information I gave him after saying it flicklers more often when app or game running..
I have a 560ti video card
i3 cpu 2400
I only have a 500w power supply..
It worked fine for 1680 x 1050 LG display, but running my system at 2560 x 1440 is to much and lack of power is causing these video jitters?

I am exactly in the same boat right now, and just found out it costs about 300 US to return the darned thing...but like you, I love the display and would like to fix it some how...Please post again how you resolved it if you did..Thanks
