There's nothing wrong with Glocks. They shoot well, they're cheap, they're reliable. They're fantastic appliances. But appliances don't excite me. That's okay. Different strokes for different folks.

What do you want to do with it?

Just spend some fun time at the range?
Collect & learn some history?
Get really good at long distance shooting?
Get really fast at short distance shooting?
Defend the house?
Hunt birds?
Hunt mammals?
Hunt zombies?

Also... what shooting experience do you have and do you have guns at the present time?

The SIG is beautiful.

I had one of those Walther P22's, but did not like the way the plastic sights felt so cheap and flimsy, so I sold it. YMMV.

I have an all black standard model P22, and while I have to be a little careful of what I feed it...it shoots great!

I don't blame you. The front piece keeps "walking" due to the screws on the underside not quite holding it in place after 200 rounds or so. I use it to plink and train new shooters, so I'm not too concerned.

What I really like about the P22 is that it operates almost exactly like a full-sized combat pistol. This means I don't have to explain to a newbie how chambering a round with a .22 is different than chambering a round with a 9mm. Something about operating a Ruger Mark III and then jumping to a typical 9mm just throws 'em off a bit.

I love my sig. That trigger thats on there was done by my brother in law. He took the stock trigger, skeletonized it and made the trigger pull extremely light. Maybe later Ill post pics of the feed ramp now that is all polished up and shiny. Also the crown of the gun was redone and cleaned up greatly. I ordered new white aluminum grips from sig that I would assume should be here soon. The p22 is a pistol i bought just to have something cheap to shoot at the range. It works for what it is. I also have a target 10/22 rifle that i had built. Soon I want to get a revolver and maybe and ak47 also.

Hmm. some interesting-looking irons I knew nothing about. As long as it didn't come back from a Legion unit, it should be factory-fresh.

Yeah, they aren't terribly well known outside of the collector circle, and even there they've only recently gained a following. Most that did see action were factory re-furbished by the French, so that's a bonus. Both my 36 and 49/56 went through this process and are the better for it. Nice new barrels, fresh Parkerizing, new wood, and all that.

Had to clean out my dad's house and (at least for now) I have his gun collection.

1) GLOCK 22 in .40 S&W
2) Springfield Armory XD in .40 S&W
3) Taurus Judge with the shorter barrel
4) Marlin .223 bolt-action
5) Marlin .22LR semiautomatic
6) Marlin .45 ACP Camp Carbine

I've fired the carbine before and it's a hoot, but a pain in the butt to clean. Glad to see that .223 Marlin; when my daughter's old enough & after she's gone through using my old BB gun I want to teach her on a small-caliber bolt.

He also had some ammunition whose markings I don't understand. It's labeled as 57 and might be 7.92x57mm for the Kar98K my grandfather brought back from the war, and the box's label appears to be in German. Haven't got it with me.

This month's victim is the PPS-43. It's chock-full of submachine goodness. Check it out here:

The local gun show was this past weekend. There was pretty much the usual stuff. Maybe a bit more zombie-themed gear than is really healthy. I did see my first vendor selling Accuracy International rifles, which was a nice surprise.

And then there was the Vanquish. The dude behind the table had a hell of a sales pitch going on. Light, accurate, rugged and breaks down into a light backpack or briefcase. Alas, I didn't want to part with $4,500 for one!

The sheriff would probably give you the hairy eye if he saw you with one of those, especially in briefcase configuration. :o

Thanks. :)

I just picked up another Swedish weapon, a Husqvarna M40. It's a licensed copy of the Finn Lahti L-35. It's in near-new condition. My collection keeps growing so I have plenty to write about.

Was there a bunch of Mafia hitmen gathered around the table?

As I understand it, mob hitmen typically use cheap throw-away guns that they can buy for a job then dump afterwards.
