i5-3570K Temps

I just built myself a fresh new IVB rig using an i5-3570K and reused my Xigmatek Gaia 120mm tower-style cooler with some Arctic Silver 5. Once I had enough components put together for a workable machine, I ran a quick Intel Burn Test in open air to make sure my cooler was seated correctly. My idle temps are in the lower 30's (C) and load temps (3.6GHz on all 4 cores) were as high as 73C. I also ran Prime95 and recieved the same results. I'm coming from a Core2 Duo E8400 that never went over 57C when overclocked to 3.6GHz on the same cooler. Is 73C normal for this processor? (room temperature is roughly the same at about 74F/23.3C)

While the idle temps are perfectly fine, I feel like the load temps are a bit high as I was expecting max temps in the mid 60's. I monitored temps using HWMonitor, CoreTemp, and my Motherboard's system monitoring software, all giving rougly the same temps. CPU voltage is at stock values of around 1.065V. I've done a few searches and can only seem to find temps from people using liquid cooling or overclocked temps. I'm just interested in temps at stock frequency. Can anybody give me some examples or their thoughs?

You may want to look into getting a faster fan for your heatsink as it looks like it is not moving enough air when your proc is under load. I would figure under load the heatpipes are getting overwhelmed causing temps to rise extremely high.

Your stock voltage seems a little high to me. Mine was at 1.014 V. It is now at around 1.064 V (and I've overclocked to 4.1 GHz).

If it helps, am using the Hyper 212 Evo with Artic Silver 5 and at stock, the load temps with IBT were in the high 50s. Room temperature is slightly higher than yours.

Thanks to both of you. I might try reseating the heatsink before going any further. I perused the newegg reviews of the Hyper 212 Evo last night for some temp examples and decided that the low 60s would be acceptable to me. My fan pushes 56CFM at max which isn't overly high. So if I can't get down into the lower 60's with a reseat, I might try one of these fans and if that doesn't work, I can always reuse the fan somewhere else and I'll purchase a Hyper 212 Evo.

@Integer: the voltage I stated was not exact, I was just trying to enforce that I was running at stock voltage.

Well, I just got done reseating my heatsink. Turns out I had bad contact/spread. I'm running Intel Burn Test now and temps are bouncing around between 57-65C. Idle temps also lowered ~3C.
The spread on my heatsink has me worried now that I'm not getting enough pressure on my CPU, so I might go get some washers to put under the springs on the fastening screws of my heatsink to get a little more spring travel to ensure there's enough pressure being applied.

@Integer: While running IBT I had CPUZ running which recorded 1.08 - 1.09V max. It looks like my mobo is automoatically applying some extra voltage for stability when Turbo Boost Kicks in. I think I'll go into the UEFI and see if I can correct this. "Stock" voltage looks to be around 1.014V. When the CPU steps down to 1.6Ghz (Idle) the voltage drops to 0.976V.
