Suggestions for new motherboard

Wed Jun 20, 2012 6:50 pm

Hey Experts.

As some of you may have noticed, I have been posting a lot of questions recently as I try to figure out the instability of my desktop. I'm now thinking that it is the motherboard after all. What I am hoping is that you technically knowledgable individuals may be able to provide me with an alternative, replacement motherboard that will fit with my needs.

I currently have a MSI 890FXA-GD70 board. There seem to be various issues, but it did have lots of slots and options for expansion. The new board must support all the basics. I have a AMD X6 1090T cpu, with 8 GB RAM (2x 4 GB). I also have a xonar sound card, and an AMD 6950 2GB video card. It would be nice to have to option for crossfire, although not a necessity. USB3 would be required, and I have a 256 MB SSD and 1 TB hard disk. So, it needs some SATA3 (6GB) and AHCI support.

This one looks like the newer version of my current (not quite stable anymore) board. $155

A slightly cheaper Gigabyte board that seems to also fit the bill is here. $135

Any thoughts? Other options?

On another thread I have mentioned that the new RAM i purchased has solved my instability issues. No need for a new motherboard.
