OK fellas, here's the input i am hoping to get from you all:)
I am looking for a atx or m-atx SLI and crossfire 8x8 motherboard to hold my 2600k and overclock it like a champ.
I am also looking for 1st hand use of people who used a sandy bridge k chip in a z77 board.
I have about 170$ to spend on the motherboard
Like i said i i am hoping to find someone who used a 2500-2600k in a z77 board....well off to the beach house for the weekend thanks!!
The board it currently is residing in is a gigabyte p67-ud4-b3 with the f6 bios with SLI 560tis. Besides wanting a z77 board for future proofing. The GB board i am using has no clear cmos button and when i overclock the old style bios, if a overclock locks up for whatever reason it will go into a rebooting loop that is well documented but never really seems to get completely fixed with new bios's,you have to jump the clear cmos button with a screwdriver and sometimes even remove the battery also.....lets just say i do not mess with my overclocks as much as i would like to since any lockup will make it reboot over and over until i clear the cmos "very anoying" and the main reason i have not found the sweet spot for my 2600k. My 2600k has never touched 65c loaded. In the summer i have a window air conditioner that blows into the case keeping it really cold, in the winter it gets really cold air from outside so teamed up with my h50-60 asetek water cooler imitation with push pull fans it never gets hot. Plus i never ran the voltage higher then 1.39v. so i am not worried that the chip is degraded along with i am not a heavy gamer at all at most since april of last year i might have gamed a hour a week over all that time.
