IPC Comparison History?

A thought crossed my mind this morning that sparked my curiosity. I would like to see some multi-generational comparisons in IPC performance between AMD and Intel.
Couple reasons:
1) Intel has been ahead of AMD in IPC performance for a few years now. Just wondering what the spread has been over the course of time and when the last time AMD was leading.
2) It would be fun to see architectural improvements over time. Sure, cranking up clock speeds increases performance, but I feel like increasing per-clock performance is much more commendable.

Anybody know if this compilation of information exists?
