it's great that you were excited to get up early to go photograph wildlife, wish I had access to that near where I lived.
for the first 2 pictures, the exposure would have been a bit difficult to get right due to the extreme contrast between the bright sunlight falling on the grass and the dark shadows. if you shot RAW, you can sort of blend the two back to make the contrast less obvious. for the second picture, focus is on the grass in front of the deer(?), you might want to try playing around with individual focus areas on your camera, only because DSLRs with the larger sensor provide a greater depth of field, it's easy to get out of focus if that's not your intended subject. 3rd picture has great composition, love that you get eye contact, small issue with the picture being underexposed. you can compensate quickly for that on aperture priority using exposure compensation, say +1 EV to brighten up the subject. you may need to boost ISO a bit to compensate for the reduced shutter speed.
i know it sounds rather technical but hope this helps.

I find shooting at 300mm to be a challenge in and of itself worthy in comparison to rifle marksmanship; a steady hand goes a long way, IS or not.
