The OCZ 4 series is a good choice if you want to buy OCZ. The Kingston HyperX series is a great performer with no reported issues worth mentioning.
The thing that appealed to recent buyers of the OCZ 3 series was simply the great price - at under $30 for a 60GB SSD, it allowed a lot of guys to say - screw it, I'll take a chance at that price. Its actually a nice upgrade on an older C2D laptop that may be feeling a bit long in the tooth. I have nothing but good things to say about my 96GB Kingston V100+ SSD - in service for a year and it really does what its intended to do.
