acer veriton m460 motherboard replacement

Sat Oct 06, 2012 4:41 pm

I have this veriton m460 that periodically would start the cpu fan but would not post. This got worse as time went by. I thought it was a power supply problem and replaced it with a more powerful new one. The problem did not go away. In searching it seemed to have three senarios for failure 1) power supply, 2) cpu paste drying up, 3) bulging capacitors. I have unplugged everything, taken out 1/2 the ram, etc. Every once in a while it would post and seem fine. The next day back to not posting. I think I need a new motherboard and I'm looking for a recommendation. According to Acer this is a 775 socket with a dual core intel chip in it. I'm not looking for top of the line or overclocking. Just want it to consistently boot, run windows 7, mostly web browsing and light word processing and publisher. Any reliable $50 ish motherboards out there that you guys like?
