Samsung 830 SSD - 256GB - $159.99 - Amazon

Mon Oct 15, 2012 1:33 pm

$159 for 256GB version.

I just picked up the 128GB for $89.99 a few days ago. I think I'm just going to add this one too.

It's the same price at Newegg, if you apply promo code "EMCYTZT2359":

Strangely enough, Samsung SSD is not available on either newegg.ca or amazon.ca.

Here's a trick for you:
Substitute .ca for .com in any Newegg links that you see.

Neat trick. However, when I try to add it to my shopping cart, I get this:

N82E16820147164 has been removed from shopping cart due to quantity limitation/insufficient stock. Some combo items might be affected by this.

Your shopping cart is empty.

This really sucks.

Gah. $193 at Amazon now and the Newegg promo code has expired (or it's not for me, not sure which)
I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.

Amazon deal of the day has the 830 series back on sale. Just picked up at 128GB for 69.99 for my 11.6" netbook.

Nice! That's $10 less than I've bought one at before and I needed another one so I'm sold!

OZC is already losing money at current prices... It seem that Samsung will single handedly put them out of business.

Hmmm, my LSI 9265-8i is yearning for these.

And there was much rejoicing.

OCZ is losing money because of high failure rates. If their failures were in line with everyone else, they could afford these prices.

Re: Samsung 830 SSD - 256GB, now $169.99 on Newegg

Sat Oct 20, 2012 11:48 am

Now $169 again on Newegg:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820147164

I think this is the best deal out there for consumer SSD. The 830 is still one of the fastest drives, doesn't say "OCZ" on it, and this is an excellent $/GB for any SSD.

I think once I can get a 512 for about $200-220 or so I'll buy one and move my entire Steam folder to it, and pretty much not have anything but archives, photos, movies, etc. on magnetic disks.

:D
