Intel 520 series -- decent sale at BestBuy B&M

Thu Nov 01, 2012 9:54 pm

For anyone who wants to pay a little more for the Intel name, the Intel 520 series are currently on sale at BestBuy. The BestBuy website shows $115/120GB and $160/240GB for a whitebox drive with a 3-year warranty, but the units in my local store are actually retail box with the desktop conversion kit and the 5-year warranty. Including tax it still comes out a bit better than the Newegg price for the same drive kits.

I snagged a 120GB model for the HTPC. Didn't really need it, but I want to experiment with Windows 8 without blowing away the existing Win7-64 setup, so why not...

That is indeed a pretty decent sale. Wonder if I can get a 240GB at my local BB for $160. hmmm

edit: I certainly can. Double hmmm
I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.

Probably this page?
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/searchpage. ... &nrp=15&p=[promotion%2C+synonymns]&_D%3Ap=+&pu=defaultusr&_D%3Apu=+&pt=1350190801&iht=n

(Sorry about the ugly link, the URL tag apparently doesn't like the query string)

Well, only one of them is what the OP was referring to... I only see the 120GB for $115, 240GB. The 180GB is $160, though.

I was looking specifically for the 240GB. If there was a BB that was not out of the way for me I'd stop in but there isn't...oh well!

My mistake, it is the 180GB. Still a good price on the 120GB though.
