iPhone 3gs update tyo ios 6 failed and now restarts

Tue Nov 06, 2012 10:37 pm

OK so I tried to update my old 3GS to iOS6. I thought it was plugged in, but apparently not because the battery died halfway through the update. Now it does this:

over and over. I googled hard resets but this doesn't seem to want to do that. Is there another way to hard reset? The computer doesn't recognize it. Have I bricked it?

I woke about 3 weeks ago to a similar problem with my 3GS. When I plugged it into the charger it would just eventually get to the picture where it says to restore it from ITunes. Tried that but just shows the apple like your video. I ended up getting a 4S and the 3GS continues to show the apple while plugged into a computer. I didnt try to update the ios when it happened it was charging overnight and I woke up tp it that way.So , after all that , I dont know if yours is bricked , but I'm interested in the replies you get to your question.

Have you tried putting the iPhone into DFU mode?

This appears to have worked! Why do I bother googling for answers when TR always provides?
