So I've got an odd problem here. Using an HP DV4-1465DX laptop, and the back-light comes on just fine and even does the "flicker" on that you usually get right before the screen displays its POST screen. However, nothing ever comes up on POST or for Windows 7.
Things I've Done/Checked
1. External Monitor - Works flawlessly, no artifacts of any kind, sizing is correct, ect.
2. Updated ALL drivers via windows (obviously not issue as it occurs prior to windows boot, but ehhh)
3. Updated BIOS to the newest version.
4. Disassembled laptop and checked/wiggled data cable, reseated... Nothing
I'm not sure if its possible to have a partially damaged inverter, because the back lighting does not flicker or seem unstable, its rock solid. Its possible that the on-board video has a damaged output to the internal monitor. Anyone know if laptop monitors control the signal they get by a specific part on the LCD itself, or is this likely done back at the MB level?
Trying to determine if its a waste to buy a new monitor for this thing to replace it, seems like it would be a crap shoot. I don't have a spare machine that is just like this unfortunately.
