slickdeals.net - This is a great deals site in general. I'll be refreshing it a lot this weekend since it's updated very frequently.
bfads.net - This site has adscans for Black Friday. They also post some online deals related to Black Friday as well.

Newegg has also had some decent deals. There was the 1TB 7200RPM Seagate they had on sale for $50 for a day (now around $80.) I'm not sure how good their deals will be but you could check out Frys and Microcenter to see what they have available.

I'm trying to decide if it's worth braving Fry's for any of the doorbusters :)

Newegg is kinda crappy this year. Their deals all seem to be the typical email deals, nothing special like last year. Hopefully that will change in the next few days.

I'm personally looking for processor and motherboard deals, may be time to upgrade.

Most everything I intend to buy actually goes on sale Thursday night, which is fine by me. I'd rather rake leaves and do house chores than shop on Friday.
A most unfortunate, Freudian, double entendre is that hotel named "Budget Inn."

Most online electronics retailers are known for their Cyber mondays, which is much more lucrative in the deals department. Also, I don't think newegg has any BF sales up yet, they are advertising a Pre-BF though and those are rather ho-hum.

The bulk of them went up yesterday. Some more went up today, but they weren't all that great.

Anyone see anything special? I'm probably getting a AMD 8350 and a 990 board that can OC well.

Black Friday has been progressively getting 'worse', as in not meaningful, for about the last 3 years if not a bit more. There are a few and far between 'great' deals which are often quantitiy limited, and good to great deals are too often no better than deals at any other time. I never did a retail store Black Friday and I'm glad for that, cyber shopping works for me :)

Yup, Newegg released their 'Black Friday Codes' and they aren't anything special.

I went over to Tigerdirect based on a recommendation for a cheaper 8350... it's 20 dollars cheaper there... They're selling 3570ks for $190. Newegg is selling this for $220, with a $20 Newegg Gift card, which isn't the same as actual money. Pretty much everything Newegg is selling, they're undercutting by like $10-20. I may end up making my cpu/board upgrade at Tigerdirect purely because I can save $50. (I've purchased my primary hardware components from Newegg for the last 10 years).

I thought the online retailers saved their best deals for Cyber Monday.

I picked up Alien and Aliens on Blu-ray at the local Wal Mart for $3.96 each. The kids have never seen these classic sci-fi thrillers, so I will scare the bejesus out of them this weekend.

For newegg, I like:
- PS3 $200 bundle
- Lian Li open workbench
- RAM is decent
- PowerDVD 12 Ultra, even before MIR is cheaper than list price
The Model M is not for the faint of heart. You either like them or hate them.

I really don't know anymore Dead... Tigerdirect has their Cybermonday sales up right now and it doesn't seem any different from the Black Friday sales.

I didn't buy much online... but 6 hours driving around and standing in line Thursday proved successful, even if a bit exhausting.

Walmart:
Emerson 32" TV for $150
fire-pit for $22
a few misc $4 blu ray movies
things I missed: $99 Nook color, $8 Brave blu-ray

Target:
2 x Nikon L310 cameras @ $100 apiece
a few more cheap DVD's and blu-ray movies

Newegg:
Cooler Master Hyper212 cooler for my PhenomII @ $25

Yup, the price differential between Newegg and Tiger/CompUSA has narrowed substantially (and in rare cases it is even reversed). Their infamously horrid customer service seems to be on the mend as well, at least at the local Tiger/CompUSA B&M store. IMO in the past year or so quality of customer service has gone from "I'd rather gouge my eyes out with red hot rusty nails than interact with their staff" to merely "meh".
Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

Tigerdirects website is still a steaming PoS like most online electronic retailers though.

Really wish some 7950s went on sale this year. Same with FX-6350s.

Both Black Friday and Cyber Monday sucked major donkey balls this year. I usually buy at least one or two things, but I saw absolutely nothing worth getting.

Couldn't agree more. Tons of off-brand garbage and grossly marked up items "on sale".

Yep, I'm very tempted to throw my Newegg hat in a closet. Pages and pages of crap while the rare decent items were tagged with the dreaded rebate card. Then there was the shopping cart glitch that added an additional ten dollars to a Fractal Design case due to an expired promo code. And on Monday they jacked a Seasonic PSU five bucks in the space of a few hours. They lost two sales and a good deal of my regard.

Not only that, but Newegg had AWFUL organization of the "sales" this year. I understand that's how they're supposed to do it. Look for what you want, but if we get you to look at all this other crap along the way maybe you'll buy something! Regardless Newegg has not impressed me over the past year+ like it used to.

I think it had something to do with a market analysis. If they throw enough crap in with the rest of the stuff people will impulse buy it without putting it into perspective, like candy at the checkout lane.

I definitely appreciated last years sale more. This one they tried to milk people for all they're worth and it was disappointing, especially finding out all the good deals were at other sites. Like the 7970 for $300 and the 3570k for $190. Newegg didn't even give a discount, they gave you a $20 gift card on a 3570k, from $220. A lot of items were like that.
