New win 8 multi monitor setup help!

Sun Nov 25, 2012 10:31 am

So I just got my first 30 inch display. the dell 3011. I have a 1080p display next to it as a desktop extension. The issue is that the 1080p 24 inch asus display is now displaying a massive black bevel on the screen of almost 1 inch. I think the OS is doing this so the image density looks similar between the 30 and 24 inch displays but I'm not sure. The OS is a fresh install of win 8 and this is not an issue in win 7.

I'm running a 7950 with the most current drivers and can't find any features in the catalyst control center or regular desktop display to correct this issue.

If I've posted in the wrong forum please let me know or if your a mod correct my mistake.

Issue solved.

Go into the control center>My Digital Flat Panels>Scaling Options>Select Monitor at top of page then adjust scan by sliding to over scan.

I have to wonder if this is an AMD quirk- I didn't have any issue running five screens with four different resolutions off of a GTX670 and HD3000. This was also an upgrade from 7 though, before which the monitors were already set up.

HDMI connector? It's a quirk I've noticed happens a lot with HDMI instead of DVI.
