I got this to work in Chrome. It wasn't obvious but in the address bar on the right side was a little icon that if clicked asks if you want to display insecure content. If you allow insecure content then the page magically starts working!

Good luck btw. I'll be voting! :D

Well I am 42 years old and have been fixing cars at dealerships since 1986. I am a very good technician "not tooting my own horn" but i am the type of technician that does the job right "no half assing it"the first time and would rarely if ever get a ”comback job" A comeback job is when you fixed a customers complaint but you either did not repair the specific problem correctly or not at all, but enough with that.
My problem is I do not enjoy it any longer and have not enjoyed it for a good 5 years now, I can say I honestly hated doing a job I am very very good at:( I have been payed by the "Flat Rate" system my hole career. For those who do not know what flat rate is you get paid by the job not hourly. Say a state inspection and emissions pays .7 hrs and a oil change pays .3 hrs...........so the whole job pays 1.0 hours. So I have to find the car then test drive it for inspection reasons, then pull up to the emissions bay and wait in line to run the emissions test "most of the time not always " then do the emissions test that takes about 15 minutes. After that I pull the car or truck into my work bay and set it up on the lift put it in the air and remove the wheels and thoroughly inspect the vehicle. While doing this I have to change the oil and filter...for .3 hrs. So the car passed inspection I reinstall the wheels tighten the oil drain plug along with cleaning up any oil residue from changing the oil filter ”we can't have it dripping oil on the ground since removing the oil filter gets oil all on the by frame or whatever may be under it"
After the car is down all the fluids have to be topped off, washer fluid, coolant bottle etc. along with filling the vehical with new oil. Once all that is done I have to take my emissions passed printout down and then go to the inspection sticker computer and enter in all the customers vehical information like tire tread depth , brake measurements , insurance company name along with policy# expiration date and the emissions sticker # that will be issued along with the inspection sticker. Then once I get both stickers I have to put a month insert on both stickers so they have the correct expiration date. Then I have to write on the ba k of the sticker the vehicals vin number, mileage, date, expiration date Etc.
Then take them to the vehical and scrape off the old stickers with a razor blade scraper and thoroughly clean any glue residue off and install the new inspection and emissions stickers carefully so they are strait and not crooked.
All for 1.0 hrs even if it was a giant new Tundra pickup that holds 7.5 quarts of oil and has rock shields that take 10 minutes to take off just to get to the oil filter housing. Let alone the extra time it takes to do everything on a big pickup.
So in actuality it took me 1.5hrs to do the job but it only pays 1.0 hrs so I worked a half hour for free. Sure it could have been a year old Camry with a 4 cylinder engine with the same exact job but it still is goin to take me at least .6 hrs to do the 1.0 hrs worth of work/paperwork.
Then if you have a car under warranty with say a electrical problem, lets say a check engine light "common problem"They will not pay you diagnosis time! Say you even know what the problem is after 15 minutes and it needs say a A/F oxygen sensor. They pay you .2hrs TOTAL!!!! Literally less then then 15 minutes to find vehical, pull it into your work area then hook up the tech stream tester "once you find one" to pull the code, then check for any technical service bullitens that might go along with the code you pulled from the vehical. Go to the parts department and pray they have what you need in stock, then install the part. Then make the trip back to the parts department to return the failed part "or you do not get paid any time" Then re located the tester so you can clear the code from the ECU's memory. Test drive vehical and verify the repair is correct and finally park it and go get another job and start the circus all over again job to job. Lets just say you struggle to make 40 hrs a week running around like a chicken with your head cut off.

This is the first time in my life I have ever collected unemployment. I have been working and paying taxes since I was 12 years old and had to get working papers. So I do not feel guilty at all waiting until I find a job not fixing cars........I am looking for a job I will enjoy not HATE. I feel I deserve that.

Wow that's a lot of venting but I could not help myself. My apologies Anyways Vote for josh people!

i know what you mean. I agree that people need to love what they do. I can totally understand. Maybe traveling would be a good idea for you! i don't know how much of this money we'll have left after taxes and well drilling costs so i'm not sure how much i can help, but it sounds like you're ready for a change. I personally find a lack of adventure in day to day western living that makes it hard. I'm a man who needs some excitement in my day, and the belief that the world is a better place because i existed. see what options you have, idk if you belong to any religious organizations that might be able to assist your travel, or what your family/responsibilities are, but you should definitely look into it!

Man, nice pics- The difference between living conditions still astonishes me.

Also, anyone in a position (e.g. without looking like an ad bot) to pimp this on other forums? Something tells me #1 has a large fan base, so we need a bigger one!
If common sense is so common, why don't more people have it?
