Best GUP in the $150 - $200 range

Fri Jan 04, 2013 5:32 pm

Hello Everyone.

Do we have a consensus about which one would be the best bank-for-the buck GPU under 200 US Dollars right now?

At exactly $200 is the 7850. So... presumably that one. :/

If you want closer to the $150 end of the bracket then a 650ti can be had for ~$155.

Kinda off topic, but if you can save a little more, the 660 Ti at 300$ is an absolute beast.

Just bought myself a GTX 660 for $194 after MIR. Running Skyrim and Dishonored at Ultra with no hiccups.

If you're gaming on a single monitor at 1920x1080/1200, the 7850, 660 or 7870 would be more than enough for most folks.

EDIT: That's a pretty good deal that JAE posted.

I actually have the very card he linked it runs cool, overclocks like a champ and plays everything I've thrown at it on at least high.

I got lucky though and nabbed it from ebay months ago for 170 :D

Newegg has raised their prices since I posted earlier, probably because Amazon has run out of stock at $180 -15MIR.

I'm running a EVGA 650 Ti which retails for about $140 and it's a pretty kickass card for the cost (both initial price tag and long-term power consumption), I'd heartily recommend it or the more powerful 660. Perhaps I'm overconfident but I'd take a hotclocked 650Ti against a 7850 any day.

You would lose that contest every day.
