With our corporate power schemes, if a laptop is put to sleep by closing the lid, and subsequently wakes up remotely for updates, Thursday night scheduled virus scan, etc., it will not return to sleep when the process is done. This is with the lid remaining closed.
So a typical thing to see is the laptop is put to sleep at end of day on Friday and on Monday it is fully on and likely has been on for most of the weekend. Not good if you are trying to be green about your power usage. The laptop can be put back to sleep by opening and closing the lid but that is not of much use.
Any ideas on how to improve this?
Thanks
