Control outgoing email

Fri Jan 11, 2013 11:20 pm

Hi guys, is it possible to restrict outgoing email in MS Outlook? In other words is there any way to white-list recipients? I have already done this for incoming mail but need to restrict outgoing email for internal use only.

FYI We don't have an exchange server and are not likely to get one.

If you had Exchange you could do Active Directory Rights Management Services (AD RMS).

You say that getting Exchange is unlikely. I wish I had a more robust answer for you.

Yea it's a bummer, all down to cost constraints and making do with what we have.

Only thing I can think of is to set up your own SMTP server and then configure rules on that server to only relay mail for a specific domain. I can't help you with the details but that is at least a starting point.
