So, I've bought some new goodies for my machine! Finally A new CPU (i5 3750K, lets OC this baby ^^), some RAM (2x4Gb), a new Force 3 90 to RAID 0 with my existing one and a beautiful ASUS MX239H AH-IPS display . Gonna put them up and running this weekend
Well, so about those thoughts... My MSI GTX560Ti has a 2 year overclock to 950Mhz on the core along with a modest OC in the memory too (2300Mhz I think), so it has basically 90% performance of a GTX570. When I think of upgrading to a new graphic card, I look at the prices/performance. I've payed 2 years ago 240€ for my card, with this amount of money now I only can buy something like a GTX660 or a HD7870. Basically, I would have like what? 10%-20% bump of performance in relation to my current card? Is it wise to spend money on an upgrade like this, at this time?
When do the next generation NVIDIA/AMD cards come out? Maybe then for the same money the difference in performance could reach 50%? I that happens, oh yes I'll upgrade indeed
Share your thoughts, I appreciate
Best regards
