Corsair Pro HX 650w - $69.99

Sun Jan 27, 2013 5:34 am

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 39012-L02C

Corsair 650w Pro HX series power supply. "Usually" runs $139.99 marked down to $89.99. Then... $20 MIR. So.... $69.99. Pretty good considering this PSU is constructed with some nice Japanese caps. They aren't quite the same as quality as the HX750 but these are still nice. I've Built some higher end systems on these and they are rock solid.

I bought this PSU 2 years ago and it's been a great performer.

Hmmm... I hate MIRs, but this is tempting.

Agree, MIRs do suck. But I've had corsair rebates show up very fast, they are very good about honoring them. I'd buy one but the cost of shipping through newegg to AK is stupid. I've gone almost exclusively to purchasing through Amazon who don't play the faked discount game and that I can get free shipping with via my Amazon Prime membership. But... if your in the lower 48 then new eggs free shipping works in your favor. I'm almost remote even with a $20+ shipping cost.

OCZ took for ever, XFX wasn't too bad but longer than it should have been and the worst was Goodyear tires lol, they straight up screwed me.

Eh, Amazon has it for $90, no fake "discount codes", no gay MIR's, better shipping (including free superfast option for Prime members) :-P Not a very good reviews for this model on Amazon, though - lots of complaints about chirping sounds from **** cooling fan.

By fake before, I meant how Newegg goes "look its usually 139.99!"...... NO IT IS NOT. Its probably normally 99.99 or the "reduced" 119.99 that it is now. I seriously think that there need to be laws about **** like this so that retailers can't make certain "deals" look better than they really are. The end result being 69 was a good deal, 99 clearly isn't considering Amazon.

I never noticed any fan whine. Almost all of the corsair PSU I've used have a high pitch whine the first couple of minutes being plugged in, but run solid. I was a bit concerned when I first got one but am now convinced its normal and not a premature failure thing.

If $139.99 is Corsair's published "list" price, that's not an unreasonable point of reference.

Well, yea, Amazon also lists the MSRP prices (which are usually crossed-out), but they don't do the redundant **** like "you need to enter the extra secret discount code in order to reduce price further!", they simply change the price itself...
Anyway, this sale appears to be over at both Newegg and Amazon, the prices are back to $100+
