Due to the nature of the mod I am currently planning I was strongly looking into using these instead of cold cathodes... does anyone have any experiance with the cables as far as how long they last? and how much light they put off in comparison to CCTs.

High intensity LED's appear to be a superior way to go for this type of application. They draw less power, are more flexible relative to placement possiblities and come in a wide variety colors and brightness levels.
