Just missed a call on the cell phone. Reversed the number, it resolves to Wilmington, DE, a/k/a the world's credit card management location. Zarking fardwarks, we're doing this dance again. Call my card's customer service number expecting to get the usual "we'll reissue a new card/number and you'll have it within 2 weeks" game while fully prepared to tell them that I will see it tomorrow AM courtesy of the quickest shipping FedEx can manage.
For some reason their fraud monitor twigged on four absolutely everyday normal charges (gas for both our cars, the prepaid lunch money program at the daughter's school, and an eye exam for the daughter). Sirens stopped howling and my BP might be back down to normal by the time I go to bed in 6 hours or so.
I'm glad they're watching, but they really need to work on the heuristics in their fraud detection given the bog-standard and dreadfully repetitive nature of the twigged charges.
In those days spirits were brave, the stakes were high, men were real men, women were real women and small furry creatures from Alpha Centauri were real small furry creatures from Alpha Centauri.
