PC wont boot

Tue Feb 26, 2013 9:29 pm

My pc currently has the following symptoms:
- Post takes about 5 minutes
- When it gets to the "Starting Windows" splash screen (WIndow 7 Professional) it freezes there and windows never loads
- I tried booting from Windows disk, it loads all the windows files from the disk, and then freezes at a "Starting Windows" splash screen again
- Does not boot into safe mode, it freezes at the screen where it loads the default windows drivers

System specs:
Asus P7p55d-e pro
Samsung 830 ssd
i5 760
560 ti

It seems as though the culprit was my Raid1 array. Disabling the array fixed all the issues i was experiencing.

So is one of the disks in the array failing?

Actually the hard drives work just fine (WD 1TB Black x2), however the RAID1 array failed a few years ago. I never bothered to fix/rebuild the RAID1 array as the hard drive and my data still showed up in Windows and it is all backed up to a home server (WD Sentinel DX4000) regularly.
